Gary Mills photo Gary Mills, Ph.D., is the founder and director of the Pain Management Program.  He is a licensed psychologist specializing in Pain Management, psychotherapy, behavioral medicine and chemical dependency.  He received his Master's in Psychology from San Francisco State College and his PhD in General Experimental Psychology from the University of Ottawa.  He holds a Diplomate from the American Academy of Pain Management and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Pain Society and the International Association for the Study of Pain.
John Wheeler photo Jonathan Wheeler, M.D., serves as medical director for Pacifica’s Pain Management Program. Dr. Wheeler obtained his medical degree and served his residency at Loma Linda University with a specialization in family medicine. He opened his private practice in the Napa Valley in 1992 and is Board Certified in Family Medicine.  He has experience in addiction medicine and served as the medical director of Crutchers’ alcohol and drug treatment program in Deer Park prior to joining Pacifica.
Jennifer Deir photo Dr. Jennifer Deir, N.D., is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who practices family Naturopathic Medicine in Napa. She has practiced in a variety of clinical settings in the U.S. and Canada and makes regular appearances on local radio to discuss the benefits of integrative medicine. She utilizes nutrition, supplements, herbal and homeopathic medicines to help people reach a state of balanced health.  At Pacifica’s Cold Springs treatment facility, Dr. Deir provides menu oversight and nutritional assessment.
Pam Dippel photo Pamela Dippel is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy. She has been been cooking around the country for over seven years, working under such famous chefs as Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse. Her love of farm fresh local ingredients has brought her back to the bay area. Working closely with Doctor Jennifer Deir, she has designed a menu for Cold Springs patients that celebrates the simplicity of local seasonal cuisine.
Jorge Perez photo Jorge Perez was originally trained in the hospitality industry coming to healthcare in 2005. He has developed competencies as a chef and landscaper and is now assistant operations manager at Cold Springs clinic. He is currently enrolled at Breining Institute for completion of his counselor Certificate in Addictive Disorders. He is also bilingual in Spanish and English.  CPR/AED certified
Douglas Kasle, Ph.D Douglas Kasle, Ph.D. 
Psychologist, providing full psychotherapy and counseling services.  He has significant experience with mindfulness meditation approaches to effective coping within a cognitive therapy model.   He treats diverse populations including dual diagnosis, trauma, addictions and personality disorders.  CPR/AED certified
Louisa Parks, Psy.D. Louisa Parks, Psy.D.
Clinical psychologist/neuropsychologist, providing individual and group counseling and cognitive testing. Specializations in substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, neuropsychological testing, and spinal cord and brain injuries. A licensed psychologist in New York and California. CPR/AED certified.

Exercise trainer/physiologist, a trained EMT/paramedic and personal exercise trainer provides individualized exercise plans in conjunction with team recommendations along with fitness assessment of VO2-CO2 and body composition measurements.  CPR/AED certified.

Exercise trainer/physiologist, provides core strengthening and flexibility training emphasizing personal fitness in spite of chronic pain and assessment of exercise functioning.  She is bilingual in Spanish and English. CPR/AED certified.

Night manager, with background in program mental health treatment as a support counselor, and professional athletics (soccer).  He is polylingual in English, French, Twi (Akan) and some Spanish. CPR/AED certified.

Hugo Chavez Hugo Chavez
Administrative supervisor of patient authorization, admission and concurrent review for both our central Napa office and Cold Springs facility. He is a veteran of the United States Navy with background in Aviation Electronics and Ordnance.  After honorable discharge from naval service he developed a 3D fetal ultrasound office in Santa Rosa.

Human resources manager and business development associate comes significant experience in customer services and human resources. She now handles HR administration of policies and procedures and patient scheduling. She works closely with the Director on business development issues.

Information technologist with varied background in substance dependence and wide-ranging computer software and hardware applications.  He currently provides complete server and information systems management for our Napa and Angwin practice sites.
